News from 2006:

Brookfield Joins the State’s Palette Project

The Palettes of Vermont is a statewide community arts project conceived by Warren Kimble of Brandon to unite communities through a fun, creative experience.

6000 wooden palettes are being distributed without charge throughout the state by the Vermont Arts Council and sponsors, for use with any medium, by any “artist” (think writers, cooks, painters, potters, poets, gardners, etc, etc….anyone who has a creative idea) for local and regional exhibition beginning during Open Studio Weekend over Memorial Day. Each palette will be registered with the Council and by October, Vermont will have hosted the “World’s Largest Exhibition Space” spanning 9600 square miles. We hope that we make the Guinness Book of World Records!

Nina Gaby has acquired 12 palettes for Brookfield residents which are going fast! Artists who would like to participate can leave a message through Nina’s website at www.ninagaby.com, first come first served!

The palettes can be picked up at Nina’s gallery in Pond Village and returned by May 23 for exhibition during Open Studio Weekend (maybe on the floating bridge if weather permits?). The exhibit will then move on to the Old Town Hall for its festival in August…and after that, who knows?
